Pay my Love, Baby!

When love turns into deceit

Rome, the eternal city and centre of vice and crime. Three middle-aged ladies are searching for love: Susanna, the romantic receptionist in a luxury hotel, Ilaria, the harsh traffic warden with a passion for soccer, and Letizia, the elegant owner of a fashion boutique.

The three dear friends get contacted independently and on various channels by the fascinating and rich entrepreneur from Milan, Diego Albertini. He states he loves them madly and bombards them with constant messages. In reality, this guy is a fake with the stolen identity of an existing family man. It is a brutal gang of Nigerians, specialized in Romance Scamming, that has chosen the ladies as their victims. Their tool is the poor literature student and nerd Tommaso. He is very good with words and has an incredible sensibility for female needs and dreams.

One day, Ilaria stops a driver in a yellow Porsche Macan. He’s in company of his beautiful wife and two adorable kids. The poor chap, the real Diego Albertini, is totally confused by Ilaria’s reaction. Will the finely spun castle of the Nigerians collapse? They have to do something! The idea is to create a fake Diego. For this purpose, they try to transform a guy with a vaguely similar appearance from a socially deprived area into a gentleman. What a challenge! It’s Tommaso who – under brutal pressure - is in charge of this difficult task. Now, a firework of hilarious situations is starting. Will the ladies notice? And if yes, how will they react?

In the meantime though, Tommaso understands that Susanna was one of his victims. He thinks of suicide… Will there be a happy end?
