Imagine yourself driving a car on a remote road in Tuscany. For more than an hour, you haven’t seen houses or human beings. The air is boiling hot. All of a sudden your super technological E-SUV is dead. You get out to make a call, but nothing happens! No line, no roaming. This is what happens to Frank, a German architect, who found an abandoned villa on the internet to buy and restore. 

After a long and tiring walk under the parched sun, he reaches a small village and enters in a world of strange guys who seem to belong to old times, where Don Camilo and Peppone were fighting against each other.

First of all, there is Vera, a German lady who will do everything she can (even very evil tricks) to prevent the settlement of another foreigner. She has a kind of aversion to everything that has to do with her former homeland.

Despite all the huge problems, Frank falls in love with the villa. He is unexpectedly forced to go on a trip with Vera across Italy to find the original documents. While taking this tour, he acquires knowledge not only about Italy and its recent history but also about his mysterious neighbour who has an extremely exciting personal story and intriguing hidden sides.
